From the North: Take Rt. 36 south through Hornell towards Canisteo, Approx. 2.5 mi. turn left on Magee Rd. (Belle Haven exit), travel 0.7 mi., turn right on Canisteo/Hornell Backroad, travel 0.2 mi. turn left on Lain Rd., travel 0.5 mi. to event site, follow signs.
From the South: Take Rt. 36 north through Canisteo towards Hornell, Approx 1.0 mi. outside of Canisteo turn right on Magee Rd. (Belle Haven exit), travel 0.7 mi. turn right on Canisteo/Hornell Backroad, travel 0.2 mi. turn left on Lain Rd., travel 0.5 mi. to event site, follow signs.
As in years past, this event will once again take place on 600 acres of beautiful farmland featuring gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. This location is a combination of open fields and wooded areas, which will all be used by our reenactors throughout the weekend and during the battles. We welcome all participation of Artillery, Infantry and Cavalry units, as well as Civilian groups and Sutlers.

7:30am Reports to Command tent on military numbers
8:30am All cars out of camp
9:00am Camp opens to the public
9:00am Officers’ meeting
9:30am – 10:30am Company/Battalion Drill
11:00am Demonstrations and games
12:15pm Muster for battle
1:00pm Battle of Lain’s Mill Day 1
After the battle – medical demonstration
2:30pm Demonstrations and games
5:00pm Dinner (Ticket is needed for Saturday Night Dinner)
6:30pm – 9:30pm Dance (public welcome)

Events will include Drilling, Music, Games, and Competitions. Past competitions have including loading and firing, tug-of-war, and best beard.

To register for participation in the Battle of Lain’s Mill event you must complete this registration form and submit it as directed on the form by the deadline of May 22, 2024. Please make all checks out to the 21st Georgia Volunteer Infantry. Any questions regarding registration should be directed to the treasurer, Jen Prunoske at treasurer@21ga.org.
Vendor Registration
Sutler registration $10 per person. All invited and interested vendors must fill out this registration and submit as directed on the form by the deadline of May 22, 2024. ALL REENACTORS: PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HELP AT OUR EDUCATION DAY ON FRIDAY May 31st from 9am – 1pm (lunch provided for all volunteers). If interested please contact Stacey O’Dell at lainsmill@21ga.org.
